About the RoleMyn is recruiting for our long-term client in the South-East of England. Were looking for a dedicated and skilled Approved Mental Health Professional (
AMHP ) to join the Frontline AMHP Team within Adult Services. This role places you at the heart of critical decision-making for individuals experiencing severe mental health difficulties. Youll have the opportunity to make a real difference, working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to provide compassionate, legally sound care and treatment.
Key Responsibilities-
Mental Health Act Assessments: Conduct assessments to determine the need for compulsory admission under the Mental Health Act.

Promote Least Restrictive Practices: Ensure all care plans align with legal and ethical principles, prioritising the least restrictive options.

Collaborative Working: Coordinate care with service users, carers, healthcare professionals, and statutory agencies.

Communication: Act as the key link between doctors, nurses, social workers, and mental health professionals.

Advocacy & Safeguarding: Safeguard the rights, dignity, and well-being of individuals, ensuring their voices are central to care planning.

Crisis Management: Provide timely responses to mental health crises, including risk assessments and managing challenging situations.

Documentation: Maintain accurate statutory forms, reports, and care plans to ensure legal and policy compliance.

Training & Development: Support colleagues by providing training on mental health legislation and best practices.

Stay Informed: Keep up to date with changes in legislation, policies, and procedures relevant to the AMHP role.
About YouWere looking for someone with:
Qualifications:- AMHP status, with up-to-date approval.
- A recognised qualification in social work, mental health nursing, or occupational therapy.
Experience:- Proven experience conducting Mental Health Act assessments.
- Experience working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
Skills & Knowledge:- Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act, related legislation, and ethical principles.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
- A commitment to safeguarding and advocating for service users rights.
